Auction! Team.Net is the newest premium service for Auction! Version 3.  We've teamed up with Serverpoint to provide a hosted solution for your data entry.  Data is backed up every two hours, to redundant servers,* and you can still make backups of your data as often as you like.

Do we still need our Auction! local PC edition?

Yes.  Online data entry is a great, focused tool.  To take advantage of the full range of Auction! capabilities, document production and reporting tools, you'll backup data and restore to a local computer running Auction! Network, Multi-user or Single User PC edition.
